Cary Frounfelter
Cary Frounfelter is not only a Florida licensed prosthetist/orthotist (LPO)—he is also an amputee himself. In 1987, he was hit by a van at an already existing accident. The resulting injuries required an above the knee amputation on his right leg. At the time, Cary was studying architecture and had already completed six years of drafting design. He became intrigued with the similarities between designing prosthetics and architecture and soon changed his major to prosthetic studies.
After completing his prerequisites at the University of Florida, Cary finished his studies at Shelby State College in Memphis, Tennessee. In addition, he also earned a Bachelor degree in Health Care Administration. Since 1989, Cary has dedicated himself to providing quality prosthetic and orthotic care in Florida. He has worked in the Tampa Bay area for more than 24 years. During the time, he also began his missionary work with Jamaica. He has operated a prosthetic and orthotic clinic there for more than 6 years and made a difference in the lives of over 500-1000 Jamaican amputees.
Cary prides himself on providing state-of-the-art medical equipment to his patients. He ensures that every patient receives the time and attention needed to properly fit the appropriate device. By thoroughly explaining the applicable options and expectations, Cary makes his patients an active part of the design-fit process.
Cary enjoys snow skiing, basketball, softball, paddle boarding, kayaking, golfing, hiking, and horseback riding. He has also coached basketball, baseball, and football for more than 10 years. Cary shares his experience with his patients so that they can see the possibilities that the field of prosthetics and orthotics can provide. Every day, Cary is proud of the industry he chose and truly believes he is making a positive difference in lives and health of his patients.
Roy Ghozali
Roy Ghozali is a Florida licensed and American board certified prosthetist and orthotist. As a prosthetist, he is dedicated to helping others regain their independence as he assists physicians with determining the most effective prosthetic prescription. As an orthotist, he designs, manufactures, and applies devices that modify the structural and functional characters of the neuromuscular and skeletal systems.
He was born in Indonesia of Chinese descent and graduated from the University of Miami with a pre-med psychobiology Bachelor of Science degree. He then enrolled in the College of Natural Health and became a licensed massage therapist in South Florida. However, his career underwent a transformation after his father had a stroke 15 years ago. The stroke left his father paralyzed on his right side.
When Roy saw the benefits of his father’s knee-ankle-foot orthosis and his wrist-hand-finger orthosis, he decided to purse prosthetic and orthosis studies. Roy went back to school and earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics from St. Petersburg College. He has worked in the field for more than 13 years, specializing in lower limb prosthetics and all forms of orthotic devices. Roy has worked in the same facility since 2005 and treats all his patients with utmost respect and care as he utilizes his knowledge to help others.
